On October 2, 1919 the Babson Institute held its first classes at Roger and Grace Babson's Abbot Road home. Twenty-seven men, mostly related to subscribers of Babson’s Reports, had signed up for “training...to become business executives.” Mr. Babson announced the founding of the Babson Institute in a Special Announcement inserted in the August 5, 1919 issue of his weekly Babson’s Reports. The catalog for our first year shows the high-hopes and ambition visible at the foundation.
